About Pick It Up Please
Pick It Up Please uses stories and creative education to inspire people to make positive changes in the world around them.
Pick It Up Please began with a simple idea: creating a cleaner world starts with helping people see the world differently.
Our mission is to educate and inspire, especially by reaching children at an early age and helping them understand their relationship with the environment, their communities, and one another.
We believe that education doesn't have to begin in a classroom. It can begin with a story.
It can begin with a character.
It can begin with a question.
It can begin with something as simple as seeing a piece of garbage on the ground and deciding to Pick It Up Please.
Starting With Children
Children have an extraordinary ability to learn, ask questions, and influence the people around them. Pick It Up Please uses storytelling and creativity to introduce young readers to the importance of keeping our neighborhoods, parks, streets, beaches, rivers, and oceans cleaner. The Marcelin & Marcy series brings this message to life through two elephants and their growing circle of animal friends.
The books encourage children to explore ideas about:
– Caring for the environment
– Keeping our communities clean
– Understanding waste and litter
– Respecting nature
– Working together
– Taking responsibility
– Making positive choices
– Encouraging others to take action
And because the books are presented in English, Spanish, and French, they also create an opportunity for children and families to experience the stories across languages and cultures.
More Than Books
Pick It Up Please is developing beyond the printed page. The Marcelin & Marcy characters are being developed for animation and other creative formats, opening the door to stories, activities, questions, educational content, and messages that children can experience in different ways. The goal isn't simply to tell children that the world should be cleaner. It's to help them understand why it matters—and realize that they can be part of making it happen.
Books for Everyone
While educating children is at the heart of the Pick It Up Please mission, the company also provides books and stories for adults. These may explore different subjects, experiences, and practical ideas, reflecting the belief that learning, curiosity, and personal growth don't stop at childhood. One current example is Back on the Road, a runner's personal story and practical guide about returning to an active life after experiencing significant knee pain. This gives Pick It Up Please an interesting broader identity: a place for stories that can educate, inspire, and encourage action at different stages of life.
All books include English, Español, and Français translations.

Back On The Road
A Runner’s Real Story & Practical Guide
At nearly 60 years old and with 26 marathons behind him, Claude-Alain Solliard suddenly found himself unable to run. Severe pain in his left knee made walking and climbing stairs difficult, and after being told that surgery was necessary, he began searching for another path.
Back On The Road is Claude's personal story of how he worked his way back to running through consistent movement, exercise, compression, topical care, acupuncture, and other approaches that he incorporated into his daily routine.
Rather than presenting a medical solution, Claude shares what he discovered and what worked for his body—along with the challenges, experimentation, and persistence that helped him get moving again.
Today, he is running again and training instead of preparing for surgery. Back On The Road is a story about movement, perseverance, personal responsibility, and finding a way forward when the path ahead doesn't look the way you expected.
